
Supporting Transgender Awareness & Respect (STAR) Training provides solution-centered programming that creatively addresses misconceptions, misinformation and the general lack of awareness about the social, medical and legal challenges that face trans and gender non-conforming children, youth and their families.
Formats vary from 90-minute "101 style"
sessions to full-day workshops

STAR Training enables individuals and organizations to confidently and respectfully provide services to transgender children, youth and their families
STAR Training covers (depending on need and time allocated):
- Identification & differentiation of trans child/youth issues from trans-adult issues
- Learning to advocate effectively and appropriately to your clientele or audience
- Using statistics and fact-based information to support your decision making & advocacy
- Skill building on language and policy development in school environments
- Understanding the different access points in a school that you can leverage
- Training on trans-youth program implementation in your organizational environment
You receive:
- A pre-workshop packet with relevant state and local information as well as materials about the challenges trans youth and their families are face
- A binder with all training materials (Full day training only)
- A STAR Training Certified document. (Full day training only)
- Access to the TransActive STAR Training online resource so that you can update information, brainstorm ideas, problem solve and collaborate with other participants.
